The Shakespeare Workshop

Your first session is FREE. Come visit the Workshop and watch as program participants study and perform sonnets, soliloquies, and scenes from across the works of Shakespeare.

Each workshop session consists of three segments: voice and verse work (voice is to Shakespeare as a projector is to a movie); a brief discussion of the "life and times" of Shakespeare (what was going on in his life when); and in-class performance (with input from the director).

THE LV SHAKESPEARE WORKSHOP IS OPEN TO EVERYONE INCLUDING NON-ACTORS so the performance segment is always optional to the participant.

The Workshop is an open-ended, year round, non-linear exploration of Shakespeare. It meets once a week every week. Once you enroll you are free to attend or to take time away and return when your schedule allows. This is not a "course." It's an ongoing Workshop.

The Workshop is under the direction of Dan Decker, Artistic Director of the Las Vegas Shakespeare Company, and author of "The Two Roses," an essay on the life of Shakespeare published in The New England Theatre Journal. Guest instructors often take part to help round out the Workshop offerings.

Workshop meets at the LVSC offices at 4675 W Flamingo, near Decatur, from 7-9pm every Thursday evening. Enrollment fee is $25/wk.
