Dula Gymnasium Offers New Programs Starting In September Registration Opens Aug. 23 For A Variety Of Classes Dula Gymnasium is offering a slate of new classes designed to appeal to adults who want to dance, diabetics and everyone else who wants to get and keep fit. All of these programs begin the first week in September and run in four-week sessions for a cost of only $20 per session. Registration opens Aug. 23 at the gym, located at 441 E. Adults who want to learn all the basic dance skills of jazz, ballet and modern lyrical dance should join the Adult Dance group. Each class will begin with a warm up, followed by across-the-floor skills and bar techniques. Every class will conclude with a choreographed combination. Dance class will be held Saturdays from 11 a.m. to noon, beginning Sept. 4. Diabetics can learn more about how to manage their condition in the new Hemoglobin A1C (5 to 7) Yeah That's Me! Class. During this fun, interactive diabetic support class, the group will discuss weekly blood sugar averages, current hemoglobin results, diet plans and exercise strategies. Classes will be held Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m., beginning Sept. 2. Adults looking to relax while staying fit are invited to register for the Triple "S" - Stretching Soothes the Soul class. Take your body through a head-to-toe hour of stretching and relaxation. Class will be held on Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m., beginning Sept. 1. Dula Gym staff also encourages the public to inquire about yoga, Pilates, karate, Zumba, jazzercise, gymnastics, weight training, computer workshops, youth basketball clinics and weekly hikes, as well as volleyball and basketball leagues.
