City of Las Vegas Offers Fall Volleyball Leagues At Five Locations Register In Advance For Leagues That Begin August-October The city of Las Vegas will offer fall volleyball leagues at five locations, with leagues beginning at staggered times from Aug. 14 through Oct. 4. Mirabelli Community Center will offer three adult leagues that begin in September. Each team will pay $150 to register, plus a $10 referee fee per match. Team registration for these seven-week leagues, plus tournament, will open Aug. 14 and remain open until full. All leagues will play from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. and have a 6 v 6 format. A men’s C/D league for ages 16+ will play Monday nights starting Sept. 20. A Tuesday night coed adult A/B league will begin Sept. 7. A Wednesday night coed adult C/D league will start Sept. 8. Stupak Community Center will offer a men’s (4 v 4) eight-week draft league for ages 17+ on Monday evenings between 6 and 9 p.m., beginning Aug. 16. This league is designed for high level men's play; players must get the instructor’s permission to participate. To participate, you will need to submit a volleyball resume showing your volleyball experience. The format will be a double round robin, with a single-elimination playoff at the end. Play will be self-officiated. Players will sign up as individuals and be drafted onto a team. Space is limited to 32 individual players. Individual registration costs $25, and is available now online and at Stupak Community Center, located at 251 W. Boston Ave. Stupak Community Center also will offer an eight-week boys’ varsity high school (6 V 6) league on Tuesday nights from 6 to 9 p.m., beginning Sept. 7. The format will be a double round robin with a single elimination playoff at the end of the league. A referee is provided, so each team will need to pay $10 per match for the official ($20 per night). Team registration costs $150 and is available now online and at the Stupak center. Dula Gymnasium will offer six-week coed recreational (6 V 6) volleyball leagues on Wednesday nights from 6 to 10 p.m., beginning Sept. 8, with tournament games on Oct. 20. Teams referee their own games and report all wins and losses to the front desk after each match. Registration for each league is priced at $100 per team and will open Aug. 23, remaining open until full. Registration will be available online and at the Dula Gym, located at 441 E. Bonanza Road. The gym also offers open volleyball play between league sessions at a cost of $2 per night, after the purchase of a $2 annual membership. With recently resurfaced gym floors and a three-net indoor set-up, Dula Gym offers a superior volleyball experience that is fun for all levels. Leagues are offered throughout the year. Coed adult (6 v 6) outdoor sand volleyball leagues will be offered at Centennial Hills Park by the Municipal Sports Office on Thursday nights beginning Oct. 4.
