Unless you are going out and finding cheap boxing bags for sale and beat on them yourself, there is nothing more thrilling than seeing a live boxing event. Of all the places in the world that you can go to see a true boxing match there is no where on earth that is greater thanLas Vegas. It is the country’s leading venue for boxing and from the fantastic hotels and the bright neon lights there is nothing more amazing and thrilling than the Vegas Strip and the inside of the casinos.

Some of the all time greatest boxing fights have taken place in Las Vagas, with events like Hagal verses Hearns, or Leonard verses Hearns. Then there is the epic Bowe verses Holyfield and Tyson verses Berbick. Since the 1980 there have been a virtual continuous stream of fantastic and awe inspiring battles such as Barrera verses Morales III,Trinidadverses Vargas and Corrales verses Castillo I.

Not only is being at a real fight just about as amazing as throwing your fist at boxing bags yourself, the totality of the experience is not something that you can accurately describe or recreate through something like the television. It is similar to watching someone hit boxing bags or hitting one yourself. You can feel the impact, the thrill of the hit and the sound and intensity of the room. When you are at an actualLas Vegasboxing match there is nothing like it in the world, no matter how cliché it is to say so.

Moving on into the second decade of this new century there is just only more great fighters that are poised to bring about a new generation of amazing fights andLas Vegaswill continue to be the ultimate place to see and experience them.

The very first legal boxing match inNevadatook place onMarch 17, 1897, something that was illegal in all of the other states in theUnion. Then in 1941 a special commission was formed to regulate unarmed combat that fell under the professional fighter category. The very first championship boxing match took place onMay 27, 1960inLas Vegasand featured 15 rounds between Benny Paret and Don Jordan.

Now you are seeing some major events, such as Manny Pacquiao against Juan Manuel Marquez III which sold a staggering 15,498 tickets and made nearly 12 million dollars at the gate.

Although using boxing bags are great, there is nothing that compares to seeing a prize fighter go at it live, right in front of you. It is a remarkable experience.

POC CUP RACES & TIME TRIAL EVENTS #3 & #4, “Australian Pursuit” Fun Race, Friday with Trophies 2012 RACER’S CLINIC #1
March 9th, 10th and 11th

Welcome to “The Third Annual POC Cup Race & Time Trial Event at Spring Mountain Raceway in Pahrump Nevada. A great track, very technical, 19 turns, 3.1+ miles long. 37 ft. min. width. On Friday, an Australian Pursuit “FUN RACE” with trophies to the winners is scheduled and also the First Racers Clinic for 2012 will be held Sat. & Sun, so lots of excitement and track time. All sports cars are welcome in the Time Trial Class and with the GT Series Race Classes, all German manufactured cars are welcome to join the POC in race competition and class wins. The Yokohama Tire Contingency for FREE tires to the winners in the GT Classes with 5 or more entries will be in place. Please contact Marty Mehterian or John Gordon for details. FREE Saturday night dinner and no-host bar at the Spring Mountain Clubhouse is included with your base entry fee. We are arranging for a BBQ vendor or a catering truck for lunch in the paddock. There are no food or drink facilities on site, so if you want something, be prepared and bring what you need.
